Program Descriptions :
BPT is an easy to use system of computer program modules for statical analyses of linear-elastic:
1 Beams and Strips
2 Axisymmetric Circular Plates
3 Axisymmetric Circular-Cylindrical Tanks
resting on
* Smooth, homogeneous, isotropic elastic half-space or
* Smooth, homogeneous, cross-anisotropic elastic half-space or
* Winkler foundation (Winkler Springs), and/or
* Unyielding supports, and/or
* Linear-elastic restraints.
BPT software is a suite of runtime modules developed on an IBM - compatible computer under Windows 2000 and originally archived together in BPT_setup.exe file. The whole suite is managed by the master module named BPTmain.exe, the remaining modules being composed of DLL - type files and two executables. The software is written in PowerBasic in Windows environment. Also included are a number of files with ZIP - extension storing files containing the data and results for particular sample jobs (structures). The name of each job’s ZIP - type file is the same as that of the job.
The BPT- suite of computer programs is applicable to STATICAL, LINEAR-ELASTIC ANALYSES of:
¨ BEAMS and STRIPS resting on elastic half-space (isotropic or cross-anisotropic) or Winkler Springs (as well as ordinary beams on unyielding and/or elastic supports),
¨ AXISYMMETRIC CIRCULAR PLATES on elastic half-space (isotropic or
cross-anisotropic) or Winkler Springs, and/or on unyielding or elastic supports
provided along circular lines,
¨ CIRCULAR-CYLINDRICAL TANKS under conditions of axial symmetry, founded on
elastic half-space (isotropic or cross-anisotropic) or Winkler Springs, and/or on
unyielding and/or elastic circular-line supports. Open-topped as well as partially
covered or fully covered (with plates or shells) tanks can be analysed. They can
also be partially or entirely buried in soil. Hinged, monolithic and free-to-slide
wall-base plate and wall-roof interfaces are admissible. The effects of in-plane
forces in the plates and in the wall can be taken into account and also walls with
ring-type stiffeners can be considered.
The software is easily and quickly operated with the aid of typical Windows Controls and its main features include:
§ easy learning and use,
§ high computational efficiency,
§ minimal data requirement,
§ simple introduction of design changes, and
§ high accuracy of results.
