Support: (english) A support contributes to keeping a structure in place by restraining one or more degrees of freedom. In a structural model, supports represent boundary entities which are not included in the model itself, e.g., foundations, abutments, or the earth itself. For each restrained translation degree of freedom at a support, there is a corresponding reaction force; for each restrained rotation degree of freedom, there is a reaction moment.
Yield strain: (english) A material deformed beyond its yield strain, no longer exhibits linear elastic behavior. See yield stress.
Analysis - (Software Engineering) a set of activities that attempt to understand and model customer needs and constraintsAnalysis methods -
Constraints - (Software Engineering) an restrictions or limitations placed on requirements or design
OCL (Object Constraint Language) - (Software Engineering) a supplement to UML, this formal language allows a software engineer to construct unambiguous statements about the characteristics of various design model elements
Software Requirements Specification - (Software Engineering) a deliverable that describes all data, functional and behavioral requirements, all constraints, and all validation requirements for software
Structured programming - (Software Engineering) a design method that limited design constructs to only three basic forms and constrains program flow for better quality
Air Content (Concrete Engineering) The amount of entrained or entrapped air in concrete or mortar, exclusive of pore space in aggregate particles, usually expressed as a percentage of total volume of concrete or mortar.
Air Entraining Agent (Concrete Engineering) An addition for hydraulic cement, or an admixture for concrete or mortar which entrains air in the form of minute bubbles in the concrete or mortar during mixing.
Consolidation - (Concrete Engineering) Compaction usually accomplished by vibration of newly placed concrete to minimum practical volume, to mold it within form shapes and around embedded parts and reinforcement, and to eliminate voids other than entrained air.
